The diverse religious backgrounds of our members foster an openness in the exchange of ideas and the sharing of our faith experiences. This openness contributes to our growth together as a community and in our individual call to serve Christ.
We have communion on the first Sunday of the month. We alternate between communion served in the pews and having he people come forward to receive, honoring the different faith backgrounds of the congregation. All present are invited to receive the Lord’s Supper at Union University Church.
We offer families the choice of dedication or baptism for infants and baptism by immersion or confirmation for youth and adults.
Each week we have a lay worship leader who handles some readings and the offering prayer. Music is an important part of our worship. We are blessed to have a talented pianist and organist. Most Sundays an ensemble or solo musician or vocalist adds special music to our worship, and we have an occasional choir or bell choir.
For Sunday worship, people wear whatever makes them comfortable — everything from jeans or shorts and a casual shirt or blouse to dresses or sport coats. Our service ends about 11:30 a.m. and is followed by coffee and a bite to eat across the street in our fellowship hall.
Sunday School for children and youth currently meets on the third Sunday of each month at 9:30. (No Sunday School during the summer.)
Our Sunday services are streamed live on Zoom and are available for viewing, often later the same day, on our Sermons & Worship web page, on Facebook and on YouTube.
